Ashley and I figured out that she had a food intolerance ourselves. When we first identified that soy was a problem, we didn't know the first thing about how to avoid it. Were we cooking with soy at home without knowing it? What foods on a restaurant’s menu contained soy? Could Ashley eat a small amount of soy and still be okay, or did any amount of soy cause a problem? Aside from knowing that soy sauce contained soy, we were clueless. It felt very overwhelming: We had to overhaul the way that we ate (or at least we had to reconsider every food), but we didn't have the knowledge necessary to undertake this journey. 

Beyond Soy coaching will help fill that knowledge gap! We know how to avoid food allergens and we've lived through the process of figuring everything out. We will teach you how to shop for allergen-free food effectively, how to pick a restaurant (and a specific dish at that restaurant), and how to navigate a food allergen-free life. But Beyond Soy coaching is more than just providing information. It's also a shoulder to lean on and a friend to commiserate with. One of the hardest parts of our soy intolerance journey was going through it alone. It was hard to find someone to turn to when things were tough. You don't have to go it alone! Your Beyond Soy coach will be with you every step of the way. Even today, after years of living a soy-free lifestyle, we still sometimes struggle. We still ask questions: Does this new food contains soy? Did the ingredients of this item change? Can Ashley eat at this restaurant? Beyond Soy coaching is a supporting structure to help with these on going challenges of living with a food intolerance (without limiting your activities and experiences!).

At any stage of your walk with food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities, Beyond Soy coaching will help you thrive. We will help you to identify food requirements, troubleshoot and debrief past experiences, develop a plan for shopping and cooking, develop a plan for a specific event (e.g., going to a wedding, or traveling to a particular place), and more.

While we are happy to coach anyone, Beyond Soy focuses on non-life-threatening intolerances, allergies, and sensitivities. People with life-threatening allergies should ensure they seek guidance from a medical professional in addition to Beyond Soy coaching.

Beyond Soy coaching is useful at any point in your intolerance-free lifestyle. We can help you identify food intolerances, allergies, or sensitivities, but also provide ongoing feedback to help you maximize living with a food intolerance, allergy, or sensitivity.
