Avocado Oil

Hello! Welcome to Beyond Soy!

Have you heard of avocado oil? Avocado oil is a great substitute for olive oil or any other type of cooking oil.

Soybean oil is pretty prevalent in the US, but there are may other types of oil available. Canola, olive, peanut, and corn oils are all great options to replace soybean oil. We mainly use canola oil when large quantities of oil are needed (think: fried fish and chips) and olive oil is our standard cooking oil.

Sometimes, though, it can be difficult to get pure olive oil. Ashley’s never had a known issue with the olive oil that we buy, but it is a known issue that not all olive oil is pure and some companies supplement their olive oil with soybean oil. This could mean that even a bottle of olive oil could contain soy. If you are having trouble finding a soy-free cooking oil (or a cooking oil that doesn’t cause unwanted symptoms) consider using avocado oil. Avocado oil can do everything that olive oil can do, so it’s a great option to try if you are looking for a change.

We love it so far, and we’ll be cooking with it for the next few weeks at least!
